The Passover Meal
by Rav Sha'ul

The Passover Meal (late Abib 14th & early Abib 15th)
The resurrected perfect body

"The Passover" occurs (at or near sunset) immediately prior to the first day of "The Feast of Unleavened Bread" (UB occurs at Dusk), and which (UB) is a both a Holy Annual Sabbath and a Holy Convocation because it symbolizes the “rest” in the Millennial Kingdom.

1 Corinthians 5

Get rid of the old yeast, so that you may be a new unleavened batch (after offering yourselves as living sacrifices on Passover) —as you really are (destined to become.  The 7 day Feast of Unleavened Bread is a shadow of the Millennial Kingdom).  For Yahusha, our Passover lamb, has been sacrificed (as our example and to rip the veil that we may enter and make our own Passover offerings of our lives as living sacrificial lambs). Therefore let us keep the Festival (of Unleavened Bread), not with the old bread (eaten on the eve of the 14th of Abib during the Chagigah meal the night before representing the old body of flesh) leavened with malice and wickedness, but with the (hope of the heavenly resurrected body of) unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

It should be remembered that prior to dusk (prior to UB) "Leavened Bread" (Artos) may be eaten, however, once the "Sacrificial Lamb symbolic of each or our own bodies offered as living sacrifices without spot or blemish" is served, then "The Passover Meal" (evening of or close of Abib 14th) is eaten with "Unleavened Bread” also once dusk occurs all leavened bread not already consumed must be burned right away.

The "Passover" meal (now without leavened bread) may continue well into the night (after Dusk), but the meal must end prior to dawn and in plenty of time to burn any leftover lamb and-or discovered uneaten leaven (crumbs, etc). This act of purging “leaven” is symbolic of the purging of all “sinners” from Earth prior to the establishment The Kingdom of Yahuah on Earth.

Matthew 13:41 - English Standard Version

The Son of Man will send his angels, and they will gather out of his kingdom all causes of sin and all law-breakers

No leavened bread must be eaten once dusk has occurred until after "The Feast of Unleavened Bread" is complete (seven full nights and seven full daylight periods later). Under no circumstances must the "Passover Preparation Day" ever be allowed to occur on a "Seventh Day Shabbat".  Any food or sacrifice that would normally be prepared during the "Preparation Days" (the daylight hours prior to Passover and UB) that occasionally falls on a weekly Shabbat must be moved up one day earlier.

Moreover, whenever a fire will be needed for burning leavening or left over sacrifice (IF UB begins on a 7th day Shabbat), then that fire must be kindled prior to the beginning of Shabbat, and that fire must be maintained for as long as it is needed to burn the uneaten sacrifice and leaven. This burning (fire) must never extend into the dawn (morning twilight) of Abib 15th because it is symbolic of Yahuah’s wrath.  This burning fire is symbolic of The Word of Yahuah which consumes all those who are disobedient i.e. sinners PRIOR to the Millennial Kingdom:

Jeremiah 5:14

Therefore, thus says Yahuah, the God of hosts, "Because you have spoken this word, Behold, I am making My words in your mouth fire And this people wood, and it will consume them.

This consuming wrath of Yahuah ends as we enter His Kingdom and all sinners (leaven) has been purged.  Therefore the restriction on “kindling a fire” on Sabbath which are weekly rehearsals of the coming Kingdom.

Dan Love, author of The Spiritual Jew:

The Physical Passover Sacrifice of the lamb itself (symbolically represented by Leavened Bread) is not without sin, but is without Spiritual Blemish (symbolically represented by a Lamb without spots), because of "Repentance" (Rejection of Self); in fact Yahuah does not seek the sinless at all (no such thing anyway). Yahuah seeks those that seek after His Righteousness (Spiritual Perfection) through reverent submission and obedience to His Commandments and Will; there is no such thing as sinless people, and that includes Messiah. However, Messiah was ultimately without Spiritual Blemish (Perfected through suffering).

Again a look at the Apostle Paul’s teaching in Hebrews;

Hebrews 5

During the days of Yahusha’s life on earth (while he offered himself as a LIVING sacrifice), he offered up prayers and petitions with fervent cries and tears to the one (Yahuah) who could save him from death (on Passover), and he (Yahusha) was heard (by Yahuah) because of his reverent submission (to the will of Yahuah which is true sacrifice). Son though he was, he learned obedience (again it was Yahusha’s submission and obedience that was the TRUE sacrifice that got Yahuah’s attention. Yahusha wasn’t born perfect or obedient he learned it) from what he suffered (ultimately death on Passover) and, once made perfect (after his final Passover suffering on the torture stake), he (his sinful flesh) became (after his suffering on the stake through resurrection) the source of eternal salvation (The fulfillment of The Passover Lamb) for all who obey him (and follow his example and offer themselves as living sacrifices and lambs on Passover) 10 and was designated by Yahuah to be high priest in the order of Melchizedek (the eternal High Priest).

We too can be without Spiritual Blemish by making YHVH's Righteousness our greatest desire in life. Remember, those that seek Salvation do so for "Self" (Self is Sin), but those that seek YHVH's Righteousness do so to become "Like YHVH” (a Spiritually procreated IMAGE of YHVH), and YHVH recognizes His own; just the same as Messiah recognizes his own (imitators or followers).

John 10:11 - The Good Shepherd and His Sheep who enter through The Passover

10 “Very truly I tell you Pharisees, anyone who does not enter the sheep pen by the gate (Passover), but climbs in by some other way, is a thief and a robber. The one who enters by the gate (Passover) is the shepherd of the (rest of the) sheep. The gatekeeper (Yahuah) opens the gate for him (the Shepherd Yahusha), and the sheep (we too our lambs of Yahuah) listen to his (Yahusha’s) voice (example). He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out (of this physical world and into The Kingdom of Yahuah through Passover). When he has brought out all his own, he goes on ahead of them (offering his life as a living sacrifice and suffering death at the stake on Passover), and his sheep follow him (in the Passover example he set) because they know his voice. But they will never follow a stranger; in fact, they will run away from him because they do not recognize a stranger’s voice.” Yahusha used this figure of speech (Mystery Language Alert!), but the Pharisees did not understand what he was telling them.

Therefore Yahshau said again, “Very truly I tell you, I am the gate (the Passover Lamb and true and living way to follow) for the (rest of the) sheep (lambs of Yahuah). All who have come before me (claiming to be the messiah) are thieves and robbers, but the (true) sheep have not listened to them. I am the gate (The Passover Lamb and the way the example to follow); whoever enters through me (follows my reverent submissive example on Passover) will be saved (from death by Yahuah as Yahusha was). They will come in (by following Yahusha’s example of living sacrifice) and go out (into The Kingdom of Yahuah), and find pasture. 10 The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come (to set the example and show the way i.e. shepherd) that they may have (eternal) life (by following my example), and have it to the full.

11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life (on Passover) for the sheep (to follow as an example as he shepherds us through the gate, we are all Passover lambs). ..

14 “I am the good shepherd; I know my sheep and my sheep know me— 15 just as the Father knows me and I know the Father—and I lay down my life for the sheep (on Passover as an example).

John 10:3-4

For I have given you an example (Spiritual Path), that you should do as I have done (offer our own lives as living sacrificial lambs).

1 Peter 2:21

21 But if you suffer for doing good and you endure it (you will be perfected just like Yahusha was perfected through suffering ultimately perfected on Passover), this is commendable before Yahuah. 21 To this (giving your own lives as living sacrificial lambs on Passover) you were called, because the Messiah suffered (on Passover) for you (and tore the veil giving you access to the Altar of Yahuah), leaving you an example (of what to do as he fulfilled the spiritual meaning of Passover), that you should follow in his steps (and bring your own offering on Passover to the Altar of Yahuah).

From The Spiritual Jew, author Dan Love:

So did Messiah and his Disciples sit down to eat a "Passover Meal" at "The Last Supper"?  Did they keep The Jewish Seder ritual?  Absolutely not!  Messiah and his disciples were having a "Chagigah Remembrance Meal" or "Love Feast" ; probably concerning the very first Passover, and about Messiah's role in the coming Passover as "The Passover". The disciples knew that Messiah was about to be crucified, and wanted to pay their respects to him.

Matthew 26:1-2 (a Chagigah Conversation before Passover)

¶ And it came to pass, when Yahusha had finished all these sayings, he said unto his disciples, 2 Ye know that after two days is [the feast of] the Passover, and the Son of man is betrayed to be crucified.

This is now the point where the Gospel of Matthew outwardly appears to become inconsistent, in as much as the highly debated verses that follow seem to indicate that "Passover" actually follows after the beginning of "The Feast of Unleavened Bread" (an impossibility). YHVH's children know that chaos and inconsistencies are a result of tampering by uninspired translators and scribes; who obviously cannot keep their story straight (Strait and narrow).

Matthew 26:17 (inconsistent with verses one and two above)

¶ Now the first [day] of the [feast of] unleavened bread the disciples came to Yahusha, saying unto him, Where wilt thou that we prepare for thee to eat the passover?

Verse seventeen obviously does not agree with the previous two verses above.  So what is wrong? Actually, I suspect that verse two is chronologically accurate, while verse seventeen is a general statement about the "Unleavened Bread Festival Season". Maybe it would be a good idea to see what "Luke" has to say.

Luke 22:1-7, 15-16, 20-21 (slightly more specific than Matthew )

¶ Now the Feast of Unleavened Bread drew nigh, which is called (generally referred to as) the Passover (season, which includes a Chagigah or two). 2 And the chief priests and scribes sought how they might kill him (Messiah); for they feared the people (notice the Jewish people did not want him killed).

3 Then entered Satan (sin of human nature) into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. 4 And he went his way, and communed with the chief priests and captains, how he might betray him unto them. 5 And they were glad, and covenanted to give him money. 6 And he promised, and sought opportunity to betray him unto them in the absence of the multitude (Jewish people).

7 ¶ Then came the day of unleavened bread (The First actual Day of UB is Abib 15th), (but) when the passover must be killed (and prepared is Abib 14th before sunset)…

15"And he said to them (during the Chagigah or Koinonia): 'I have longingly desired to eat this [coming] Passover with you before My suffering (Messiah was Perfected by those things which he suffered);

16 however, I tell you that I shall not [be able to] eat of it, until it can be administered (made replete) in the Coming Kingdom of Yahuah'"(On Earth)…

20 He took the cup in like manner after supper, saying, "This cup is the (symbolic) new covenant (New Marriage, but Original Vows) in my blood (symbolic of life & sacrifice), that which is [to be] shed (G1632, ekcheo; distributed) for you.

21 But behold, the hand of him who betrays me is with me on the table.

It is not The Covenant (Marriage Vow) that is new, it is The People, with whom YHVH has made His covenant "In Blood" (symbolic personal sacrifice), that are new. Both Covenants require man to Love and Obey Torah (The Marriage Covenant).

Therefore, he (Messiah) did not eat "The Passover Meal" (but chose personal sacrifice instead and Made HIMSELF The Symbolic Passover), and he will not eat of it until it can be administered in the Kingdom of YHVH on Earth.

Okay, again "We" see that even Luke is speaking in generalities (verse seven), however, it is plain to see that verse seven is still not speaking of the actual First (Holy) Day of Unleavened Bread, because "Unleavened Bread" is commanded by YHVH to follow "Passover" and "The preparation Day". "Passover" actually occurs at the end of "The Preparation Day" (Abib 14th), and "The First day of Unleavened Bread" immediately follows it as soon as "Dusk" occurs (beginning of Abib 15th). Therefore, the majority of the rhetoric concerning Passover and Unleavened Bread is just that . . . "Rhetoric".

rhetoric |ˈretərik|

noun

the art of effective or persuasive speaking or writing, especially the use of figures of speech and other compositional techniques.

• informal language designed to have a persuasive or impressive effect on its audience, but may not be accurate in content.

Therefore, "We" are forced to assume that, while the people in general were all caught up in the festivities, the levitical priests were following the commanded observance.

There appears to be an awful lot of mystery and confusion concerning the Scriptural accounts of The Passover, Unleavened Bread, and Messiah's crucifixion. Is there a deliberate cover up of the events on that day? Quiet possibly, but the lack of strict Scriptural obedience doesn't help matters either.

For example; symbolically speaking an obedient follower should not become unleavened a day prior to the symbolic sacrifice of the "Passover Meal" and the seven days of "Unleavened Bread". These occurrences should symbolically demonstrate the point in time when Righteousness Seeking men and women become a "New Person" and "Self"  is sacrificed for "Righteousness Sake".  Therefore, symbolically becoming "Unleavened" prior to Messiah's sacrifice is nonsense that makes of "No Effect" the symbolism used to teach YHVH's "Plan of Salvation".  Additionally a "Full White Moon" symbolizes "Pure Righteous Perfection". While "The Feast of Unleavened Bread" itself symbolizes "The Sabbath Millennium" in which Satan (human nature) will be bound and no unrighteousness will even exist, except in theory. Even so, some removal of excess leaven (sin of human nature) prior to the beginning of the fifteenth day (Full Moon) of the first month (Abib 15th) is symbolically permissible, as long as some symbolic sin  (leaven) is still available to be burned immediately after the end of "The Passover Meal". However, do not consume any of  "The Passover Meal" with leavened bread once dusk (Twilight with the Full Moon) has begun.

The symbolism is that it is after Passover at twilight with the "Full Moon", that "We" become (symbolically) unleavened (perfected);   then "We" burn all remaining leaven (throw it into the existing fire)! This same fire will later be used to burn any and-or all remaining  (uneaten) lamb prior to dawn.

Now that we have kept the Chagigah in remembrance of what it is all about and then eaten The Passover Dinner we begin the celebration of The Feast of Unleavened Bread.
