The History of The Nation of Israel

The descendants of Jacob were defined by his 12 sons.  They descended into 12 tribes of peoples.  These 12 tribes became a nation, The Nation of Israel.  Israel was one nation under one King with one capital city and one Temple.  That nation later was divided and went to war against each other and split into two Kingdoms.  The sons of YHVH literally went to war over the “blessings of Abraham” and established two kings, two capital cities, and even two Temples!

 

The Birthright Blessing vs. The Scepter Blessing

 

The blessings YHVH gave to Abraham were divided by Jacob among his 12 sons.  These blessings were summarized into two major blessings known as The Scepter Blessing and The Birthright Blessing. 

·       The Scepter Blessing was given to Jacob’s son Judah (from whom The Jews descend). 

·       The Birthright Blessing was given to Jacob’s son Joseph by proxy through Joseph’s two sons Ephraim and Manasseh. 

These two blessings literally created “enmity” between the 12 Tribes of Israel and they split into two houses and eventually two kingdoms:

·       The Northern Kingdom of Israel (called in prophecy The House of Israel) which were 9 tribes.  The “Birthright Blessing” of Abraham was given to The House of Israel to become many great nations.

·       The Southern Kingdom of Judah (called in prophecy The House of Judah or the Jews) which were 3 tribes. The “Scepter Blessing” of Abraham was given to The House of Judah that through Abraham all the nations of the Earth would be blessed.  A promise of the coming Messiah.

This “enmity” between the two houses angered YHVH and it was the very reason YHVH sent pagan empires to conquer both kingdoms and send them into captivity:

·       The Northern Kingdom of Israel (House of Israel) was defeated and sent into Assyrian captivity.  They never returned out of captivity as YHVH divorced them completely and dispersed The House of Israel over the entire globe.  It was through this process that Israel becomes many great nations in fulfillment of the Birthright Blessing YHVH promised Abraham. 

·       The Southern Kingdom of Judah (House of Judah) was taken into Babylonian captivity, came out of captivity with the Scepter Blessing to rebuilt The Temple, and produce The Messiah, and were later dispersed by the Roman Empire in AD70.

YHVH then sent His Prophets to each of the two houses to speak to them and tell what there end shall be:

Isaiah 46

8 "Remember this, fix it in mind, take it to heart, you rebels. 9 Remember the former things, those of long ago; I am YHVH, and there is no other (God); I am YHVH, and there is none like me. 10 I make known the end from the beginning, from ancient times, what is still to come. I say: My purpose will stand, and I will do all that I please.

When defining the true sons of YHVH we must know YHVH’s purpose and “what is still to come”.  The Apostle Paul was an expert in The Torah and Prophets (a Pharisee) and he was well aware of both and taught exactly what YHVH prophesied.
