What is Sin if we are under Grace? by Rav Sha'ul   The following question was recently asked of me...  my reply is a little heavy, especially for anyone not willing to know the Truth concerning what the Word REALLY says concerning our responsibility to YHWH becomes we love Him, and Yahusha's role in our lives as High Priest.   YHWH's law is supreme but ignored in ALL christiandome. I ache for them man. We are under the commandment to love that fulfills the law. What is sin, therefore, for us who are not "under" the law?  Sin is transgressing His Commandments/Torah.  Love IS KEEPING THEM!  GRACE is only for those who LOVE and attempt to keep His Commandments and fail.  Therefore LOVE provides GRACE which fulfills His Law for those who KEEP His Commandments and fail... who are in covenant with Yahusha to advocate for them.  You MUST keep the Law out of LOVE and be in covenant with Yahusha TO BE UNDER GRACE and not the Law.  Those who claim they are under grace and use that as an excuse not to know and keep His Feasts/Torah/Sabbath are liars.  And do not know YHWH or Yahusha.  1 John 2:4 "He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him." What is Sin? 1 John 3:4-24 4   Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the Torah/Law: for sin is the transgression of the Torah/law (Paul clearly teaches this exact same thing.  The Law was given so that we may know what is Holy and identify sin). What do we do if we Sin? We are in covenant with Yahusha our advocate or HIGH PRIEST who offers the proper sacrifice for that sin... 1 John 2:3 1   My little children (writing to the spiritually immature), these things write I unto you, that ye sin not (by breaking the Commandments of YHWH). And if any man sin (falling short of keeping the Commandments), we have an advocate (High Priest) with the Father (of Elohim, YHWH), Messiah Yahusha the righteous (anointed and perfect human image or proxy of YHWH): 2   And he (Yahusha) is the propitiation (substitution) for our sins (violating YHWH’s Commands): and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world (those who know Yahusha and are one with YHWH through marriage). 3   And hereby we do know that we know him (here is the test), if we keep his commandments (we obey and Yahusha said if you love YHWH, keep His Commandments, not ONE JOT OR TITLE is done away with). 4   He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. (the sign of the sons of YHWH are those that keep the Sabbath/Feast/Torah). 5   But whoso keepeth his word (Yahusha said that not ONE JOT OR TITLE is done away… Yahusha commanded us to Keep the Commandments of YHWH), in him (those who keep the commandments) verily is the love (of YHWH) perfected (we pass the test and it is recorded in the Book of Life): hereby know we that we are in him (we are in covenant with Yahusha if we keep YHWH Commandments). What is the FUNCTION of Yahusha the High Priest? Hebrews 5 - Qualifications for High Priesthood the Messiah Our High Priest Forever 1 For every high priest taken from among men is appointed for men in things pertaining to God, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices (defined in the Law) for sins (transgressing the Law). 2He can have compassion on those who are ignorant (of God’s Law) and going astray (from the commands of God), since he himself is also subject to weakness (bound by sinful flesh). 3Because of this (his own guilt of transgression) he is required (to repent) as for the people (he makes sacrifices), so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for (his) sins. 4And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by God, just as Aaron was. A Priest Forever 5 So also Yahusha did not glorify himself to become High Priest, but it was YHWH who said to Yahusha (upon Yahusha’s baptism for repentance, and filling with the Spirit of Truth):         "You are My Son,         Today I have begotten You." 6As YHWH also says (of Yahusha) in another place:         "You are a priest forever         According to the order of Melchizedek" (Melchizedek was the first Zadok (Righteous) Priest); 7who (Yahusha), in the days of his flesh (prior to resurrection), when he had offered up prayers and supplications (for Israel), with vehement cries and tears to YHWH who was able to save Yahusha from death, and was heard (by YHWH) because of his (Yahusha’s) godly fear (of YHWH), 8though he (Yahusha) was a Son (of many in the family of Elohim), yet he (Yahusha) learned obedience (over time through a life on Earth, was not born perfect but perfected) by the things which he suffered (being disciplined by YHWH). 9And having been perfected (over time through discipline), he (Yahusha) became (perfected through obedience and) the author (demonstrating The Way, 3 witnesses of water/spirit/blood of 1 John) of eternal salvation to all who obey him (by keeping the commands of YHWH), 10(Yahusha was) called by God (YHWH) as High Priest "according to the order of Melchizedek," 11of whom (Yahusha) we have much to say, and hard to explain, since you have become dull of hearing (mind not set on the Spiritual Law of God but on the flesh which transgresses the Law). Spiritual Immaturity 12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers (of the Torah, there was no such thing as the New Testament), you need someone to teach you again the first principles of the oracles of God (the Torah); and you have come to need milk and not solid food. 13For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the word of righteousness (the Torah/Law which is Holy, Righteous, and Good), for he is a babe. 14But solid food belongs to those who are of full age (mature Saints with minds set on Spiritual Law), that is, those who by reason of use (by obedience to the Spirit of the Law) have their senses exercised (trained by the Torah) to discern both good and evil (which is defined by the Law of God/which is the Torah).   Why do we keep His Torah/Feasts/Sabbath?  Out of Love not obligation: 1JO 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments; and His commandments are not burdensome (WE KEEP THEM OUT OF LOVE NOT OBLIGATION, WE HAVE ALREADY BEEN JUSTIFIED THROUGH FAITH WHICH ACCORDING TO PAUL ESTABLISHES THE LAW). What is "The New Covenant"? According to all the authors of the New Testament it is ALL the old covenants PLUS ONE... to be covered for your transgression of the Torah by the blood of the Lamb: 1 John 2 6   He that saith he abideth in him (is in covenant with Yahusha) ought himself also so to walk (be doers not talkers), even as he walked (follow Yahusha’s example… by keeping YHWH’s Commandments). 7   Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning (at the time there was no New Testament, 1 John is teaching the Torah). The old commandment (Torah) is the word which ye have heard from the beginning (given in covenants, commandments, feasts, Sabbath and that word is the Commandments of YHWH). 8   Again (here is the only new one), a new commandment I write unto you (you must believe in and be in covenant through Yahusha the Messiah), which thing (Spirit) is true in him (Yahusha) and in you (the Spirit of Truth): because the darkness (of Law without Grace) is past (shadows/portraits/prophesies concerning the coming Messiah), and the true light now shineth (the Messiah has COME!  And shown us the way unto salvation providing Grace to fulfill and make whole the Law/Torah). The New Covenant Further Defined: Now 1 John expands on this ONE new command so that we fully understand its implications and meaning. 1 John 3:4-24 4   Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the Torah/Law: for sin is the transgression of the Torah/law (Paul clearly teaches this exact same thing.  The Law was given so that we may know what is Holy and identify sin). 5   And ye know that Yahusha was manifested (created human by YHWH) to take away our sins (as the Passover Lamb providing Grace in light of transgression making whole the Torah); and in Yahusha (our High Priest) is (present tense) no sin (Yahusha has been perfected through a life on Earth of trials and tribulations). 6   Whosoever abideth in Yahusha (are in covenant by the blood of Yahusha) sinneth not (by keeping the Commands of YHWH): whosoever sinneth (present tense, does not keep the Commands of YHWH) hath not seen him (Yahusha), neither known him (are NOT in covenant with Yahusha). 7   Little children, let no man deceive you (by teaching that the Commands of YHWH are done away): he that doeth righteousness (obeys the Will of YHWH) is righteous, even as he (YHWH) is righteous (as we, through covenant of marriage with Yahusha, are one in Will/Mind/Purpose with YHWH as Yahusha is). 8   He that committeth sin (transgresses the law) is of the devil (the Old Testament is not Old after all, that is a false doctrine of devils); for the devil sinneth from the beginning (violated the Commands of YHWH). For this purpose the Son of God (Yahusha) was manifested (born in the flesh), that he (Yahusha) might destroy the works of the devil (defeat sin/death upon resurrection and FULFILL the Law providing Grace for our transgressions). 9   Whosoever is born (again) of YHWH doth not commit sin (transgress YHWH’s Commands/Law); for YHWH’s seed (Spirit of Truth) remaineth in him (we are Elohim, sons of God): and he cannot sin (habitually), because he is born of God (we too are sons of God as is our elder brother Yahusha). Those who TRULY know Yahusha should mature in His Torah to the point of TEACHERS... The Torah is THE KEY to Wisdom and Salvation   1 Timothy 3:14-17. But continue in the things which you have learned and have been assured of, knowing of whom you have learned them; And that from a child you have known the holy scriptures (Torah, is HOLY), which (Torah) are able to make you wise unto salvation through faith which is in Messiah Yahusha. All scripture (Torah, there was no NT) is given by inspiration of YHWH, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness: That the man of YHWH may be perfect, thoroughly furnished unto all good works (works of the Law). Psalm 19:7-10 The law of the LORD (Torah) is perfect, converting the soul: the testimony of YHWH is sure, making wise the simple. The statutes of YHWH are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of YHWH is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of YHWH is clean, enduring forever: the judgments of YHWH are true and righteous altogether.  More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb. Moreover by them is your servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.       What about the Torah? If we fail to keep 1 command are we guilty of all? Grace or Law? vs. Grace AND Law? Did Yahusha cancel the Feasts, Torah, Sabbath? Are all other covenants voided by the New Covenant? Evidence of Salvation... 3 witnesses of 1 John - KEEP THE TORAH/FEASTS/SABBATH
